The soft window targa is the most unique and recognizable body styles of all the early 911/912 cars. Soft windows were originally standard equipment on all targas with the hard window glass becoming standard somewhere early on in 1968. The novelty of the plastic rear window was a nuisance when they were new since owners relied on these cars for year round daily driving, however, this nuisance of the past is now the delight of today as these cars are only seldom driven and highly collectible. The soft window targa becomes a completely different car once it is opened up, it feels like a true convertible but with the driver protection of a fixed styled roll bar.

This particular example has just completed a full concours restoration throughout; finished on March 5th 2009. The quality and condition is second to none, it really belongs in a museum. Fully sorted out, ready to be driven and shown. An extensive bare metal paint job was completed to the rust free, accident free body. The paint quality was done to better than new standards. The engine and transmission were disassembled serviced, refinished, resealed and put back together to a very high standard. All suspension was removed and restored. The underside looks as good as the rest of the car. Wheels were refinished and new tires installed. This car retains its ALL original excellent condition interior. No carpet or vinyl was replaced all original material was preserved. Only the soft window was replaced with a new unit from Auto’s International. Original Tonneau cover and Targa top bag included, both look as if they have never been used. Even the targa top is original with excellent vinyl. This car is without doubt one of the most pristine examples in the world. You will not find a finer example.
